Lynn "Buck" Compton had a distinguished professional life, serving as a paratrooper in World War II with "Easy Company" of the 506th Infantry Regiment. Post-war, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department and later the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, where he played a key role in prosecuting Sirhan Sirhan for the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy. Compton later became a judge on the California Court of Appeal. His wartime experiences were immortalized in the book "Band of Brothers" by Stephen E. Ambrose and the HBO miniseries of the same name.
