Phyllis Schlafly

Phyllis Stewart Schlafly was an American attorney and conservative activist known for her opposition to feminism, gay rights, and abortion. She led a successful campaign against the Equal Rights Amendment and authored the influential book "A Choice Not an Echo." Schlafly also co-authored works on national defense and was critical of arms control treaties with the Soviet Union. In 1972, she founded the Eagle Forum, a conservative political group, and remained actively involved until her passing in 2016.
