Robert Scott

Robert Scott was a distinguished British academic philologist and Church of England priest. He was a co-author of the renowned Greek-English Lexicon, commonly known as Liddell and Scott, which is still widely used today. Scott taught as a professor of Greek at the University of Oxford for more than thirty years. He also held several positions within the Church, including as a prebendary and rector. In addition to his academic and religious roles, Scott was a highly regarded editor and translator, making substantial contributions to the field of classical Greek language and literature.
