Description:
(Politician) Thomas Howard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk, was a key English politician and nobleman in the Tudor era. He was involved in the royal marriages of King Henry VIII's wives Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. Despite falling out of favor in 1546 and being imprisoned in the Tower of London, he escaped execution following Henry VIII's death. Norfolk later helped Queen Mary I ascend to the throne, adding to the conflicts between his Catholic family and the Protestant royal lineage.
