Jackie Coogan was an American actor and comedian famous for his work as a child actor in silent films. He rose to fame with his performance in Charlie Chaplin's movie The Kid, making him one of Hollywood's earliest child stars. Coogan's lawsuit against his parents for mishandling his earnings led to the establishment of the California Child Actor's Bill, also known as the "Coogan Act." He remained active in acting and became well-known for his role as Uncle Fester in the 1960s TV show The Addams Family.
