Břetislav Pojar

Břetislav Pojar was a Czech puppeteer, animator, and film director recognized for his contributions to puppet animation and stop motion animation. He started his career in Czechoslovakia in the late 1940s, working alongside puppet animator Jiří Trnka. Pojar later moved to Canada and collaborated with the National Film Board, creating acclaimed films with social commentary and minimal dialogue. In the mid-2000s, he returned to the Czech film industry to co-direct the animated feature film Fimfárum 2 before his passing in 2012.
