Yōichi Kotabe is a prominent Japanese animator and character designer known for his work on various anime films from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as his contributions to iconic franchises such as Super Mario and Pokémon. He spent two decades as an employee at Nintendo, where he excelled in illustrations, character designs, and supervision. Following his tenure at Nintendo, Kotabe transitioned to freelancing within the anime and video game industries, including collaborating with Nintendo once again.
