(Romanian Theatre Manager and Actor) Costache Caragiale was a renowned Romanian actor and theatre manager known for his significant contributions to the Romanian theatre scene. He began his career in 1835 and later established a theatre company in Iaşi, Moldavia. Caragiale worked in different regional theatres in Romania and played a key role in promoting the works of local playwrights. He was the inaugural director of the National Theatre of Bucharest and also penned numerous comedic plays during his tenure.
