G. Madhavan Nair is a respected Indian space scientist who served as the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation and Secretary to the Department of Space, Government of India. During his tenure, he led key initiatives such as the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme and the successful launch of the Chandrayaan-I mission. Nair also held leadership roles at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna. His significant contributions to the field of space exploration earned him the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award in 2009.
