Hans Thomas Reiser is an American computer programmer and entrepreneur recognized for developing the ReiserFS computer file system and establishing Namesys in 2004 to manage the evolution of ReiserFS and its successor, Reiser4. Despite his significant professional achievements, Reiser's career was marred by his conviction for the murder of his wife, Nina Reiser, in 2008. His contributions to the Linux kernel through ReiserFS have been noteworthy, although the file system is scheduled to be replaced by 2025.
