(Structural Engineer) Kim Bailie was a world-renowned expert in the structural dynamics of submarine-launched ballistic rockets. He obtained advanced degrees in aircraft structures and engineering mechanics, along with a PhD in aeronautics and astronautics. Bailie's career highlights included significant contributions to the design of Trident and Polaris ballistic missiles. In retirement, he dedicated his time to restoring vintage aircraft at the Hiller Aviation Museum and building homes for Habitat for Humanity. He was recognized as a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
