Brandenburg has also significantly advanced the fields of audio coding, perception measurement, wave field synthesis, and psychoacoustics. His exceptional work has been acknowledged through numerous national and international awards. Currently, he serves as a professor at the Technical University Ilmenau and has played a pivotal role in establishing the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (IDMT) where he serves as director.
