Larry Hoover is the founder and former leader of a Chicago street gang, Black Gangster Disciple Nation, now known as Gangster Disciples. Popularly known as ‘King Larry’, ‘Prince Larry’ and ‘The King of Kings Honorable Chairman’, he is considered as Chicago’s biggest gangster since Al Capone. Currently serving six life imprisonments at the ADX Florence supermax prison in Florence, Colorado, Hoover spread the wings of the once-a-local street gang nationally. GD, as his gang is known as, has been involved in all kinds of criminal activities involving conspiracy, extortion, money laundering, drug dealing, murder, shooting, assaults and so on. It was under the leadership of Hoover that the gang’s illicit drug trade in prison and on the streets, starting from Chicago's West Side extended throughout the United States. Hoover began his criminal activities when he was merely 12. As the years passed, his crime rate only heightened as he assumed leadership of Gangster Disciples. Later, under the veil of GD which he claimed to be ‘Growth & Development’, Hoover continued his illicit drug trade and held the reins of his gang, helping it grow exponentially.
