David Karp, an American entrepreneur and blogger, is renowned for founding the microblogging platform Tumblr. Beginning his career as an intern at Frederator Studios, he played a key role in developing the studio's first blogging platform. Subsequently, he worked at UrbanBaby and established his consulting company, Davidville, before co-creating Tumblr with Marco Arment in 2007. Leading the platform, Tumblr expanded to host over 375.4 million blogs. Karp earned recognition such as Best Young Tech Entrepreneur 2009 and MIT Technology Review TR35. Following Yahoo!'s acquisition of Tumblr in 2013, Karp served as CEO until his departure in 2017.
