John William David Swan KBE is a former Bermudian politician and real estate developer. He served as Premier of Bermuda from 1982 to 1995, during which time he played a key role in establishing Bermuda as a major offshore financial center. Swan oversaw the completion of over 20 major projects, led negotiations for a Tax Treaty with the United States that benefited the insurance and reinsurance industries, and held various ministerial positions. He received several prestigious awards for his significant contributions to trade, politics, and property development in Bermuda.
