Larry A. Silverstein is an American businessman who currently serves as the chairman of the Manhattan-based real estate and development company ‘Silverstein Properties’. Silverstein Properties manages multiple high-profile commercial as well as residential properties in New York City and is currently the fifth-largest commercial landlord in the city. Among his projects, the most noteworthy is the acquisition of the lease on the World Trade Center complex in Manhattan that was soon after destroyed in terrorist attacks. Silverstein Properties rebuilt the first office tower named ‘7 World Trade Center’ at the site five years after the attacks. A law graduate from the Brooklyn Law School, Silverstein is a member of the New York Bar and has served as the Chairman of the Real Estate Board of New York, where he currently serves as the governor. A committed philanthropist, he dedicates his time and resources towards various causes.
