Bárður á Steig Nielsen is a prominent Faroese politician and businessman. He has a background in management accounting and has held various positions in the finance sector, including as Finance Minister of the Faroe Islands. Nielsen has also been involved in business ventures such as the Kollafjord Pelagic and the SMI Stóratjørn building project. He has served as the CFO of Vodafone Føroyar and has been a board member of several trading companies. Nielsen is currently the leader of the Union Party and has been reelected to the Faroese parliament multiple times.
