Gary Rhodes was an English celebrity chef, restaurateur, culinary show host, and cookbook author, best known for his expertise in English cuisine. Starting his career as a sous chef, he graduated to being a head chef at many top-notch hotels. He gained fame with his show Rhodes Around Britain. He had also been part of shows such as MasterChef, MasterChef USA, and Hell's Kitchen. He owned countless restaurants, including City Rhodes, Rhodes in the Square, and the Michelin-starred Rhodes Twenty Four. In his later years, he had moved to Dubai and launched a few restaurants there. He had written numerous cookbooks, such as Rhodes Around Britain, Open Rhodes Around Britain, and Short-cut Rhodes. He also earned the prestigious OBE honor. He was married to chef Jennie and had two kids. His spiked hair style, which became his trademark later, was the result of a surgery after an accident. In 2019, he died due to bleeding in the brain, at the age of 59.
