Nicky Hilton Rothschild is a noted American fashion designer, businesswoman and socialite. A member of the well-known Hilton family by birth, and that of the Rothschild family by marriage, she was taught early in her life that money must be earned and at the age of seventeen, while she was still in high school, she began her career designing handbags for a Japanese company. After graduating from school, she attended fashion institutes, but left without earning her degree, all the while continuing with designing. Soon, she branched out to clothes, launching a moderately priced high fashion clothing line called ‘Chick’ by twenty-one and a second clothing line, ‘Nicholai’, which had higher price tag by twenty-four. By and by, she diversified into jewelry, cosmetics and finally into shoes. Sometime in between, she also tried her hand into modeling and wrote a fashion book called ‘365 Style’. A mother of two daughters, she supports a range of charitable organizations.
