Bernie Wrightson was a renowned American artist known for his intricate pen and brushwork in horror comics and illustrations. He began his career as an illustrator for The Baltimore Sun newspaper before joining DC Comics in 1968. Wrightson co-created Swamp Thing with writer Len Wein and illustrated the first ten issues of the character's monthly series. He also worked on adaptations of literary works by Poe, Lovecraft, and Stephen King, as well as creating an illustrated edition of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Additionally, Wrightson provided concept art for various films and TV series.
