(Visual artist) Ann Hamilton is an American visual artist renowned for her large-scale multimedia installations. She obtained her BFA in textile design from the University of Kansas in 1979 before pursuing an MFA in sculpture at Yale in 1983. Hamilton taught at the University of California at Santa Barbara from 1985 to 1991 and has been a faculty member in the Department of Art at Ohio State University since 2001. She was honored with the title of Distinguished University Professor in 2011 for her significant contributions to the field.
