Description:
(Italian painter)
Bernardino Luini, a north Italian painter, was closely connected with Leonardo da Vinci in the High Renaissance period. He was recognized for his elegant depictions of women with elongated eyes, a style referred to as Luinesque. Luini, along with Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio, was thought to have collaborated directly with Leonardo, and Luini greatly benefitted from the master's influence. As a result, some of Luini's works were initially mistaken for Leonardo's. Luini's artistic talent shone through in his skillful fusion of Leonardo's techniques with his own interpretations, resulting in a distinctive and identifiable aesthetic.
