Robert Arthur Goodnough

Robert Goodnough was a prominent American abstract expressionist painter associated with the Color Field movement. He was part of the original generation of the New York School and exhibited widely in solo and group shows across the United States and internationally. Goodnough's work was featured in prestigious exhibitions at The Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Additionally, he participated in significant events like the 9th Street Art Exhibition and the New York Painting and Sculpture Annuals. Goodnough also wrote articles for ARTnews magazine and was elected as a member of the National Academy of Design.
