Louis Wain

Description: (English Artist)
Louis Wain was an English artist celebrated for his anthropomorphised cat illustrations. He started as an illustrator in 1881 and transitioned to full-time work in 1882. Wain created numerous drawings and paintings each year for different publications, including his own annual release. His art was featured on postcards and in advertisements. He briefly dabbled in ceramics and animated cartoons. Despite his widespread appeal and high productivity, Wain did not amass wealth, potentially because he sold his work at low prices and gave up copyright ownership.
