Description:
(Politician) Kathleen Lynn was an Irish political activist, doctor, and Sinn Féin politician. Inspired by the poverty and illness she observed in western Ireland, she chose to pursue a medical career. After completing her studies in England and Germany, she obtained her degree from the Royal University of Ireland. Lynn worked in the United States before coming back to Ireland. She made history as the first female physician at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital. In 1919, she established Saint Ultan's Children's Hospital, significantly shaping healthcare in Ireland.
