(Politician) Cecilia Malmström is a prominent Swedish politician who has held key roles in European politics. She served as the European Commissioner for Trade and prior to that, as the European Commissioner for Home Affairs. Before her European roles, she was the Minister for European Union Affairs in Sweden and also represented Sweden as a Member of the European Parliament. Malmström is recognized for her opposition to the Sweden Democrats and was a member of the Swedish Liberals until she left in 2023 due to disagreements over the party's stance towards the Sweden Democrats.
