Annette Lu

Annette Lu Hsiu-lien is a Taiwanese politician known for her involvement in the tangwai movement and feminism. She joined the Democratic Progressive Party in 1990 and was elected to the Legislative Yuan in 1992. Serving as Taoyuan County Magistrate and Vice President of Taiwan from 2000 to 2008, Lu made several bids for the presidency and supported other candidates at times. Despite facing challenges within her party, she remained politically engaged and ran for president in the 2020 election as a member of the Formosa Alliance.
