(Activist) Inna Shevchenko is a prominent Ukrainian feminist activist and leader of the international women's movement FEMEN. She gained recognition for leading topless protests against manifestations of patriarchy, including dictatorship, religion, and the sex industry. She notably survived a kidnapping and threat incident by the Belarus KGB in 2011. Shevchenko made headlines in Ukraine for cutting down a Christian cross with a chainsaw in 2012. She later sought asylum in France in 2013 and continues her activism by leading FEMEN France from a base in Paris.
