Vladimir Luxuria is an Italian activist, television personality, and actress. She served as a Communist Refoundation Party MP in The Union coalition led by Romano Prodi. Luxuria made history as the first openly transgender member of Parliament in Europe. Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in Rome in the 2006 general election, she lost her seat in 2008. Luxuria's contributions to LGBTQ+ representation in politics have paved the way for future transgender MPs worldwide.
