Elizabeth Gurley Flynn

Elizabeth Gurley Flynn was a notable American labor leader, activist, and feminist who made significant contributions to the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). She was a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union and a strong advocate for women's rights, birth control, and suffrage. Joining the Communist Party USA in 1936, she later became its chairwoman. Throughout her career, she remained dedicated to advancing the rights of workers and women, and her efforts were honored with a state funeral in the Soviet Union attended by thousands.
