Sayyid Jamal al-Din al-Afghani was a notable political activist and Islamic ideologist in the late 19th century. He was instrumental in establishing Islamic Modernism and promoting Pan-Islamic unity in India to resist British colonial rule. Al-Afghani emphasized the importance of uniting Muslims against Western influences, prioritizing solidarity over minor religious disagreements. Additionally, he was involved in a plot to eliminate Shah Naser-al-Din, whom he believed was making excessive concessions to foreign powers, notably the British Empire.
