American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer André Benjamin, better known by his stage name André 3000, shot to fame as part of the southern hip hop duo Outkast. The duo also featured rapper Antwan Patton, or Big Boi. A multiple-Grammy-winning artist, Benjamin redefined the hip-hop scene of the 1990s and explored the genres of G-Funk and Dirty South. Known for his chart-busting tracks such as Ms. Jackson, Rosa Parks, and Hey Ya!, with Outkast, he later had a moderately successful solo career too. He has also collaborated with prominent artists such as Beyoncé and Kesha. Benjamin has appeared in several films and series such as Families, Revolver, and Four Brothers. His best-known role is that of Jimi Hendrix in All Is by My Side. He has also voiced several animated characters. He is an entrepreneur and an animal rights activist, too.
