Bill Spiller

Bill Spiller was an American golfer who played a major role in breaking racial segregation in the sport. When he was not allowed to compete in the 1948 Richmond Open because of his ethnicity, Spiller sued the PGA of America. He then went on to challenge PGA of America's segregation policy for many years until 1961 when the organization relented.
