Jonás Cuarón Elizondo is a filmmaker and screenwriter from Mexico. He is the oldest son of Alfonso Cuarón Orozco, a renowned Mexican filmmaker. A native of Mexico City, Cuarón grew up in the Mexican film industry and always harboured a deep passion for films. He graduated from Vassar College before embarking on his career as a filmmaker. In 1991, he made an appearance in his father’s romantic comedy film ‘Sólo con Tu Pareja’. He made his directorial debut in 2007 with the romance drama ‘Año uña’, which was also written and produced by him. Since then, he has put out the documentary short ‘The Shock Doctrine’, the short film ‘Aningaaq’ and the thriller drama ‘Desierto’ (2015). Cuarón also co-wrote the script of his father’s 2013 science fiction thriller film ‘Gravity’. The father and son duo, along with producer David Heyman, won the BAFTA award for Outstanding British Film in 2014.
