Tiya Sircar is an American actor, best known for her roles in 'Alex, Inc.,' 'The Internship,' '17 Again,' and 'The Good Place.' She is also famous for her voice role in 'Star Wars Rebels.' Born in Arlington, Texas, Sircar grew up in an academically-driven environment. However, she was always inclined toward the arts. Her mother, herself a dancer, encouraged Sircar’s passion for dance. Sircar eventually developed an interest in acting and moved to Los Angeles to build a career. Sadly, like other aspiring female actors of color, she, too, faced rejections based on prejudice. Sircar later admitted that she had lost many auditions to Caucasian actors. However, her lead role in 'Alex Inc.' was written without any stereotyping, and the show, on the whole, borrowed several aspects from the Indian culture, something that was rare back then. Sircar is also an environmentalist and supports several organizations working for the environment and promoting humane treatment of animals.
