Anthony Albanese is an Australian politician who is currently serving as the 31st prime minister of Australia. He became the first Italian-Australian prime minister in the country's history following his victory in the 2022 federal election against Scott Morrison's Liberal-National Coalition. He has been a Member of Parliament for Grayndler since 1996 and previously served as the deputy prime minister of Australia in 2013 and a cabinet minister in 2007-2013, during that period he was the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Regional Development and Local Government and Leader of the House of Representatives. Anthony Albanese, who had joined the Australian Labor Party as a student, was elected deputy leader of the party in June 2013 and has been the leader of the party since 2019. As a politician, he is known for his support of pro-abortion rights, LGBT rights, legalizing voluntary euthanasia, replacing Australia's current constitutional monarchy, carbon pricing, and renewable energy.
