Katie Olivia Hopkins is a British columnist and media personality known for her outspokenness. She first gained recognition as a controversial contestant on the BBC show, ‘The Apprentice.’ Born and raised in Devon, UK, she studied economics and then obtained military training, but was not commissioned as she suffered from epilepsy. After her first reality show, ‘The Apprentice,’ she appeared in few more shows, then worked as a columnist for British publications ‘The Sun’ and later, ‘Mail Online.’ Written through her columns, and tweets, her views proved controversial on many occasions. Her comments about Scottish people, dementia patients, and migrants raised criticism, protests and petitions. She has been interviewed under caution by ‘Homicide and major crime command’ over the allegations of inciting racial bias. After her remarks about ‘Manchester Arena Bombing,’ she was removed from the post of presenter for ‘LBC’ radio station. On occasions, the publications that employed her had to pay damages and legal costs to the targets of her allegations. Presently she writes for the Canadian website ‘The Rebel Media.’ She is married to Mark Cross, and has three children.
