Daniel Fredinburg, born as Daniel Paul Fredinburg, was an American Google executive, inventor, explorer, climate activist and entrepreneur. He was the head of privacy at Google X as well as the founder of Google Adventure Team, the effort to map formations and geological areas on the Earth at a detailing level similar to Google Earth's street-level view of towns, cities and other populated areas. Besides this, Fredinburg was the co-inventor of several software technologies and techniques that were patented by Google. The American multitasking personality even worked for the defense industry at Boeing in his career. He died in 2015 due to head injuries suffered by him in an avalanche at the Mount Everest-South Base Camp, following the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. Although Fredinburg wasn’t successful in reaching the Everest’s summit in his lifetime, he had topped four of the Seven Summits including Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe, and Aconcagua in South America.
