Sela Ward is an American actor, best known for her ‘Emmy Award’-winning performances in series such as ‘Sisters’ and ‘Once and Again.’ Born and raised in Mississippi, Sela was interested in arts ever since she was a teenager. Following her high-school graduation, she attended the ‘University of Alabama’ and double-majored in fine art and advertising. Following this, she started working as a storyboard artist. She started modeling to earn extra income and then began appearing in TV commercials. She made both her film and TV debuts in 1983, with the film titled ‘The Man Who Loved Women’ and the series named ‘Emerald Point N.A.S.’ After starring in guest roles in several films and TV series throughout the 1980s, she had her major acting breakthrough in 1991, when she starred in the series titled ‘Sisters.’ The series featured her as ‘Teddy Reed,’ one of the lead roles, for which she won a ‘Primetime Emmy’ award. She also appeared in the series ‘Once and Again’ and won another ‘Primetime Emmy’ and a ‘Golden Globe’ award for her performance as ‘Lily Manning’ in the series. She has also appeared in films such as ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ and ‘The Day After Tomorrow.’
