Justine Frischmann is an English visual artist and former musician, popularly known as the lead vocalist of the Britpop band 'Elastica' and the alternative rock band 'Suede.' She grew up in an affluent household and initially pursued architecture as a career option. Her childhood interest in songwriting resulted in the formation of the two bands. Frischmann is regarded as a prominent music artist from the mid-1990s, an era when Britpop pop flourished. However, as she was never interested in creating music, her music career was short-lived. She quit 'Suede' before the band began to grow popular. 'Elastica' disbanded after its second album failed to repeat the success of its debut album. Frischmann retired from the music industry and focused on visual arts and spiritualism. She has been painting for over a decade now. However, she began to exhibit her paintings only in 2013. Frischmann made headlines for her relationships with her band members Brett Anderson and Damon Albarn. She later married a climate scientist. She is now a full-time painter and lives in the U.S.A.
