Sigourney Weaver is an American actress and film producer. She made her film debut in 1977 with a minor role but quickly established herself in Hollywood. In just two years, she landed her first lead role as Ellen Ripley in the iconic sci-fi film Alien (1979). Weaver’s portrayal of an action heroine was widely praised, and she reprised her role as Ripley in the sequels Aliens (1986), Alien 3 (1992), and Alien: Resurrection (1997). Her remarkable performance in Aliens earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
