Carli Lloyd is an American soccer player, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. Currently playing for Manchester City, she scored the winning goals in the 2008 Olympics and 2012 Olympics, earning two gold medals for the US—the first player, in either gender, to score a gold medal-winning goal in two Olympics. In the 2015 World Cup, she earned the US team a gold. She represented the US at three FIFA Women's World Cup tournaments, and was named the top player of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. She is still commended for her magnificent hat trick in a championship game. She has played over 230 matches for the US national team and scored over 90 goals. According to head coach James Galanis, she is a fantastic midfielder who is fully focused on the game. Carli has made a lot of sacrifices off the field to pursue her dreams, and she brings a lot of professionalism to the team. She published a best-selling memoir in 2016 titled ‘When Nobody Was Watching.’ In 2017, President Obama named her a member and co-chair of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition.
