Calista Flockhart is an American actress, who has been active both on stage and screen since her debut in 1989. Born to a business executive with transferable job, she spent her childhood in various cities across USA, eventually graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts. Although she began her career with television, she soon joined the stage. She debuted in films at the age of twenty-nine and at Broadway at the age of thirty. She enjoyed various kinds of roles that she was offered, especially the title role in Fox television production, in Ally McBeal. However, Calista Flockhart had always put her family first and did not hesitate to take a break at the end of Ally McBeal to become a full-time mother. Equally concerned about the society, she served as the national spokeswoman for Peace Over Violence from 2004 to 2014 and also as the national spokesperson for the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women.
