(Architect) William Van Alen was an American architect best remembered for overseeing the design of the famous Chrysler Building in New York City. Many of his innovations, such as curved glass corner windows and storefront windows, went on to become a standard practice in American architecture. Van Alen Institute, an independent nonprofit architectural organization, is named in his honor.
