Eddie Redmayne, born as Edward John David Redmayne, is a well-known British actor, best known for portraying the character of Colin Clark in the film ‘My Week with Marilyn’ and that of Marius Pontmercy in the musical ‘Les Misérables’. He has also played supporting roles in films, such as ‘Elizabeth: The Golden Age’, ‘Savage Grace’ and ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’, to name a few. Besides this, the talented actor has done several television projects, the popular ones being ‘Birdsong’, ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ and ‘Tess of the d'Urbervilles’. Coming to his stage career, Redmayne has performed in the stage productions of ‘Richard II’ and ‘Red.’ These and many other contributions of the British actor have earned him substantial name and fame. Talking about the honors, Redmayne has won many awards such as a BAFTA Award, an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2015 by Queen Elizabeth II, in recognition of his services to drama.
