She was born to a journalist father in a middle-class family. She acquired an extensive education in media and journalism while working at local newspapers to support her studies. She started her journalistic career in Mexico before returning to Spain to work in television journalism. She worked at many channels and reported on a wide variety of groundbreaking stories like 9/11 attacks, Iraq war, etc. She met Prince Felipe VI at a party and they dated for a year. They soon announced their engagement and got married in a grand ceremony in Madrid. Soon after, she began to perform her royal duties and extensively travelled throughout Spain and the world. After her father-in-law abdicated the throne, her husband became the king of Spain and she the queen. She is passionate about several social causes. She is also a very popular fashion icon who is admired for supporting Spanish designers and brands.
