Amanda Peet is an American actress who came into the limelight after featuring in the 2000 American crime comedy film ‘The Whole Nine Yards’. She had worked her way into films after appearing in a number of commercials as well as small television roles in the 1990s. She appeared in the American comedy film ‘Saving Silverman’ and later acted in the American romantic comedy ‘Something's Gotta Give’. She has also been part of the popular comedy films ‘Griffin & Phoenix’, and ‘The Ex’. Besides comedy films, Peet has appeared in several other genres as well. In the early 2000s, she appeared in the American geopolitical thriller film ‘Syriana’ and the science fiction film ‘The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Academically inclined as a young girl, she decided to become an actress while in college. She took classes under acting teacher Uta Hagen and embarked on an acting career. She was part of the American comedy-drama television series ‘Jack & Jill’ for three years and later appeared in ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’, another comedy-drama series. Peet has also actively taken part in various campaigns advocating childhood vaccinations. She was awarded by the Independent Investigative Group (IIG) for her work campaigning for vaccines.
