Kathy Baker is an accomplished award-winning American stage, television and film actress. She is perhaps best known for playing main role of Dr. Jill Brock in the American television drama series ‘Picket Fences’. It garnered her widespread recognition and earned her three Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Baker forayed into acting with stage and got her breakthrough with the off-Broadway production of ‘Fool for Love’ that won her an Obie Award and a Theatre World Award. She made her debut on-screen with the American epic historical drama film ‘The Right Stuff’. Moving on she won National Society of Film Critics Award and Boston Society of Film Critics Award for for her brilliant performance in the American thriller-drama film ‘Street Smart’. She furthered her fame with ‘Picket Fences’ and went on to feature in several other notable on-screen productions. These include television series ‘Touched by an Angel’ and ‘Boston Public’ and television film ‘Door to Door’, all three of which earned her Primetime Emmy Award nomination; and films like ‘Nine Lives’, ‘Saving Mr. Banks’, ‘Cold Mountain’, ‘The Cider House Rules’ and ‘Take Shelter’.
