Bill Duke is an American actor, director, producer, and writer. He is best known for playing supporting roles in films, such as ‘Commando,’ ‘Predator,’ ‘No Man's Land,’ and ‘Bird on a Wire.’ Duke has directed many critically acclaimed films including ‘A Rage in Harlem’ which was loosely based on Chester Himes' novel of the same name. The film was premiered at the 44th ‘Cannes Film Festival’ where it received a five-minute standing ovation. Also, Duke was nominated for a ‘Palme d'Or’ for directing ‘A Rage in Harlem.’ He has also directed episodes of popular television series, such as ‘Cagney & Lacey,’ ‘American Playhouse,’ ‘Miami Vice,’ ‘Dallas,’ and ‘Hill Street Blues.’ Apart from acting, directing, and producing films, Bill Duke also mentors aspiring actors and filmmakers.
