David Furnish is a Canadian filmmaker and former advertising executive best known as the spouse of legendary English musician Sir Elton John. They have been together since 1993, entered a civil partnership in 2005, and got married in 2014. He previously worked at the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather and was a board member of its London office. Through Rocket Pictures, the couple's joint production company, he has directed and produced films and documentaries such as 'Elton John: Tantrums & Tiaras', 'It's a Boy Girl Thing', 'Gnomeo & Juliet', 'Billy Elliot the Musical Live', 'Sherlock Gnomes', and 'Rocketman'. He has contributed to magazines like 'Tatler', 'Interview' and 'GQ', including a piece on Jude Law. He is also a board member for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
